The Uffizi gallery in Florence is packed with art, but also with people. I find it really hard to connect with the work in that environment. Finding a little corner like this to take a picture becomes a bit of a treat.

There's some kind of crazy heatwave throughout mainland Europe at the moment. We are in Florence, it's 38 degrees celsius outside and swarming with people.

This place is quiet and cool.

Perhaps this is why churches are sometimes called sanctuaries: to find peace away from other tourists. Must be.

This is a shop, which is totally crazy. It's a fancy shop that sells smelly stuff, although it calls itself a pharmacy.

Italy can be quite overwhelming at times.

It's easy to forget about this as a hobby when you don't travel by train much.

I used to travel all over the place by train. I was late to the party by getting my driving license at 35, and since then have missed these little train station moments.

It's actually a few hours out of Pune but I stupidly cannot remember the name of it. I was expecting to come to a village and here is this school with 3000 pupils. Not sure what constitutes a village in India.

No idea what this fellas name is but he was very jolly and seemed happy to sit for ten seconds before scurrying off. I think he is the headmaster. All other photos of the visit were selfies from teachers phones with me and the kids.

It's my first visit to India and it's all quite overwhelming.
